I'm an engineer. I lead a team building the software side of physical machines: industrial robots, machine vision, and IoT systems. My daily tools are ABB and Fairino robots, Siemens PLCs, and more edge hardware than fits on one desk. I've been an engineer for over seven years, the last three in robotics and IoT after starting out in web technologies.

My life's work is simple to state and hard to do: make industrial hardware as easy to program as the web. That's why I wrote abb-rws-client, a TypeScript client for ABB Robot Web Services, and RAPID Live, which puts ABB robot programming where developers actually live: inside VS Code. I also maintain Pulsebloom, a Python framework for IoT backends. Think Django, but for devices.

At work, I build machines that do careful, boring things exceptionally well: a cobot that finds scratches on laptops, software that listens to laptop speakers and knows when they lie, a robot that paints, and a warehouse where every door, sensor, and PLC reports to a single dashboard. Lately I'm working on physical AI: putting learned models on robots so they can see, decide, and act on their own.

Off the clock, I carry a Fujifilm and speak four languages, sometimes in the same conversation.
